Our Fave Drag Queens Of All Time 💜 (SPOILER ALERT❗️)

Posted by Darlings Jewelry on

Hello, Darlings!

We hope you've had an amazing last week. We're back again with a whole new blog and this week, we're going to talk about some of our fave, most iconic drag queens of all time. Here at Darlings Jewelry, we love all things unique, glam and colourful, so drag is our fave!

For many of us, we can accredit the successful reality competition show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ hosted by drag queen and former Club Kid RuPaul Charles for introducing us to the fabulous world of drag. From the eccentric outfits, makeup and personalities, to the incredible performances, this show is entertaining in every way.
Many drag queens have gained fame post-‘Drag Race’ but some didn’t need the show to kick start their careers. Today, we're taking a look at the drag queens who have gifted us with their vibrant personalities, performances and fashions throughout the years. Let's get started!

Trixie Mattel

Trixie Mattel (born Brian Firkus) is truly a Cinderella story. Growing up in rural Wisconsin, Trixie eventually came to be a drag superstar. After placing sixth-place on RuPaul’s Drag Race season seven, her career continued to flourish. From Youtube to now having her own brand, there's no doubt that this 'Skinny Legend" isn't absolutely thriving, as she deserves.

Bianca Del Rio

It has been sais that Bianca, was one of the most professional queens to ever appear on Ru Paul. As one of the most successful alum, this statement makes complete sense. Bianca is known for her witty and strong personality. Since then, the insult comic, self-proclaimed “Clown in a Gown,” and first Latinx Drag Race winner has created a level of global drag stardom, with 2.3 million Instagram followers, the star in the West End musical  Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and even came out last year along with her coconut-oil-based makeup remover. We're so happy to see this Queen thrive.

Katya Zamolodchikova

Her full name is Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova, but she's more known as “Katya.” She became known to mainstream audiences after appearing on season seven of RuPaul. After a scary breakdown at the end of season seven, we're glad to see her doing much better. Her drag career started while performing in the clubs of Boston, MA, particularly hosting a show called “Perestroika” at Jacques Cabaret. Since then she’s appeared in stage productions, several movies, TV shows, and co-hosts a popular podcast, Whimsically Volatile.

Latrice Royale

Latrice Royale has been one of the only Queens to be on Drag Race three times! She was first introduced to mainstream audiences on season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Royale didn’t win the crown but fans voted her “Miss Congeniality,” an award bestowed upon fan-favourites on the show. We love how this queen is constantly slaying looks on the runway.  This hard-working fan-favourite has been working hard ever since. Latrice has just recently got married and is a strong force behind the scenes. She now serves as a manager for other queens’ careers; current clients include Kennedy Davenport, Alexis Mateo, and, of course, herself.

That's a wrap for this week, Darlings. We hope you've enjoyed this week's blog. If you did and would like us to dive more into the world of drag in our blogs, let us know on Instagram @darlingsjewelry. Have an amazing week!
